We’ve developed Remote Learning Lesson Plans and created new teaching resources to support all remote and hybrid learning environments. Print, digital, and blended options ensure every student has opportunities to learn in or out of the classroom. Is a comprehensive, project-based, secondary level Earth and space sciences program.
Our programs make your science and mathematics standards come alive. Our authors are top-tier researchers and brilliant educators whose work is supported by the National Science Foundation and other esteemed institutions. We understand how people learn best, and how to work with every individual to remove traditional barriers to learning. Our expertise in the field of neuroscience means that we understand the limitless capacity of the brain.

Conduct investigations to show that materials can be identified based on their properties. Record, graph, and analyze data about the sun’s position in the sky and how shadows change during the day. Plot data about earthquakes to identify patterns and see the relationship between their location and tectonic plates. Walk the school grounds to discover evidence of change to the landscape. Observe the entire life cycle of Painted Lady butterflies in the classroom.
Identify the different materials that make up common objects, and think about the properties that make each material useful. Experiment with pea seeds to test how much light and water they need to survive. Observe how some changes to Earth’s surface are quick, while most other changes take place over a long period of time. Discover that some materials tend to redirect more light than others. Learn that materials can block light, let some light through, or let most light through.

Develop an understanding that some fossils have modern counterparts and some do not, because those organisms have gone extinct. Discover that fossils are rocks that reveal information about ancient plants, animals, or other organisms. Create and compare graphs of weather measurement data and identify patterns in that data.
Record daily weather conditions and look for patterns in the weather data during each season and over the entire year. There are also many shared resources in the IQWST Teacher Portal that may be useful for teachers and parents/guardians. Activate Learning has partnered with OpenSciEd to provide the first Interactive Digital Edition of OpenSciEd, Full-Color Teacher & Student Editions, and Science Kits for Middle School. We also recognise that emotional intelligence and a sense of purpose are essential for learners to fulfil their potential. Students engage in authentic projects where they act as scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers. They work with their hands, model with technology, deliberate with their peers, and record their thinking in multiple formats. Fosters scientifically literate students who will be prepared for the workforce, able to make informed decisions, and contribute as productive citizens in the 21st century. This Texas Exclusive K-12 page provides a convenient and high-level introduction to our program lineup and corresponding resources.
They work in collaborative groups to iteratively solve problems and explore challenges. Science and engineering practices are not just found in isolated inquiry activities, but permeate the entire curriculum. Use their imagination and new understanding of energy to design a machine that uses the power of energy transfers. Materials are an essential element to investigation-centered learning. The RLLPs identify which materials are needed from the Equipment Kit which common household items could be used to conduct simple and safe investigations at home.
We give teachers the support they need to engage students with phenomena, facilitate productive discourse, and differentiate instruction. Our programs embed just-in-time professional learning materials, developed by fellow educators, in every lesson. Activate Learning offers professional development support for all K-12 programs based on goals for teacher learning. We provide several opportunities for teachers to examine the chosen materials, understand how the curriculum design works, and analyze an array of instructional practices and strategies that foster meaningful student engagement.
It includes student learning materials, teacher resources, teacher-support networks, and assessment tools. EarthComm also features a robust Web site filled with student and teacher resources regularly updated by AGI. In PBIScience, students take part in science learning experiences framed around answering Big Questions or addressing Big Challenges that guide instruction and serve to organize their learning progressions. As students pursue answers, they conduct investigations, make models, collect and analyze data, weigh evidence, write explanations, and discuss and present findings. It is designed to be an educative curriculum for teachers as well as for students. The RLLPs can be downloaded as Word documents to allow teachers the flexibility to edit the lesson plans as needed for unique learning environments.
Is the product of a rigorous iterative development process by an author team comprised of both content and classroom specialists and is designed to be educative for elementary school teachers, as well as for students. The RLLPs provide for teachers and students to support individual learning environments based on the available resources. The plans suggest when to use videos or images in lieu of classroom investigations and simple activities that students can do on their own.
You will be introduced to some of the theories regarding human behaviour and experience and will explore some of the explanation’s psychologists have to understand humans and their interactions with the world. Activate Learning colleges are local to you and offer flexible learning options to work around your schedule. Activate Learning offers full-color print teacher and student editions. See what all the hype is about in this 3-minute Interactive Digital Edition introduction video. Discover how unusual mixtures have properties, unlike other materials they explore in the topic.
Observe, analyze, and describe scenes of various weather conditions. Examine and create maps that identify where different landforms and bodies of water are located . Observe and record patterns in the structures of different plants, and in the structures and behaviors of different animals. The books will show that animals get the things they need from the places where they live, and that animals can change their environments.
